So Age of Conan comes out on the 20th of May and if you pre-order you can start playing on the 17th. My old guild from Vanguard and a few other mmos is re-forming for serious players and we already have a good base of hardcore pvpers from people we've played with in other games. We are called Inner Circle Elite aka ICE. We are going to be dedicating alot of time on becoming a top guild and always have been in every game we've played. If any of you are interested in AoC and are in need of an organized skillfull team of experienced players then I would love to play with some of you. We want to have fun of course but have goals we want to accomplish and we want to accomplish them first in game or on the server. We are going to be rolling on the same server that alot of the top guilds from WoW will be on to artifically create a higher skilled enviroment. ICE wants to be the best and may not be at first but we would rather not be the best among the mediocre servers cause there's really no point of saying you're the smartest noob. PvP is our top priority and PvE is only a means to an end for us. You WILL be hunted with our tags on but will also have backup at a moments notice if you are soloing, not only by us but our allied guilds.

This is not an invite to the guild, it's an invite to apply but you would definetly have the upper hand in your application if you say that "Breyth" is your reference. If you choose to apply please put post here with the name you applied with so I know who is who.

Again, I would love to play with some of you and if you are planning on playing AoC anyways, why not apply? We have the same family, smartass vibe that TF2F has but a little more closeknit so most of you would fit right in.

Inner Circle Elite website! (apply on the forums)

UPDATE: We will be starting with the early access launch today on the Deathwhisper PvP server, we will continue to accept applications until a few weeks into the game and then it's invite or sponsor only.

I heard WoW is better than this in almost every way,

INC LONG TEXT

As someone who has been in the AoC Beta since November, here are the things that WoW does better:

1. Graphics. Hey look, an art style! A finished engine! Varied clothing! Characters that aren't hideously ugly and/or infringing on the uncanny valley!

2. Sound. Nearly every ability in WoW has a unique, or near unique, sound. In Age of Conan, most abilities have the same sounds as your normal weapon hits, and most of the spell casts use the same sound. Furthermore, the music in Conan has maybe one or two good pieces, while I've yet to find a piece in WoW that wasn't great.

3. Battle Depth. In Age of Conan, they have complexity. Not depth. Most of the fights against NPCs are fun, but many of the abilities in the way they are designed are broken. All of the bleeds of a Conqueror for example, do nearly no damage other than the original weapon hit. And they generally cost more energy, too.

4. Quest Design. In WoW, most of the quests are centralized in one place, and where you may get 10 quests of 4 or 5 different styles, in Conan's 10 quests, you get 2 styles.

5. Mid-level content. As my Conqueror reached her 30s, and into her 40s and 50s, the amount of pure grinding required(as in, no quests available/quests too hard) skyrocketed. Eventually, by level 31, she was farming 90% of her levels and questing only a little bit from there.

6. Travel Times. To get to a place to sell things from Midland Cimmeria would take upwards of 35 minutes- sprinting most of the way(have to let energy come back). And that was only to get to the level 25+ areas- as in, 5 levels past the initial Level 20~ areas.

7. Instancing/Group Quests: Most of your initial instances are solo instances, and take about 5 minutes total. But the real offender here, are group quests- which are essentially normal mobs that are impossible to kill. Even with a 5 person group, we could not get him down- especially considering the fact that he would 2 to 3 shot us. And this wasn't just on one quest- it happened to me so often, I just began avoiding group quests altogether. Which I'll note, they don't let you know which are group quests until you get to the mob. And the only reason you know then is the pile of Tombstones around them.

8. PvP. PvP in Conan is a joke. Completely. I could not believe what I was playing. As a Conqueror, I could dominate entire battlefields by myself. I would 1 or 2 shot others around, and if they were a caster, I could kill them even if they were 5 to 10 levels above me without much trouble. Let alone the fact that the PvP has no point, no benefit, and is so exploitable that frankly, they should turn it off for launch.

Things Age of Conan does better than WoW:

1. Marks where mobs are on your map, for you to kill them. Very useful.

2. Non Auto Attack Combat(double Edged sword however)

Thats it. I'm sorry, the game failed. As someone who was very eager, very hopeful for the game, the fact that they fail on basic game design facets is unforgivable.
Quote of beta player.

This is a mature and different gaming experience slated towards harcore players. This is one person's opinion, the general reviews around the net and most everyone in beta besides this guy gives it outstanding reviews, early access pre-order sales have far exceeded their predictions. The game launches today for preorder customers and launches officially on the 20th.

This isn't your normal fantasy MMORPG, if someone is expecting a WoW like experience they will be very dissapointed. That doesn't make it a bad game. It's funny how original game designs are put off by people who want to play WoW forever. Also this is from beta, things are purposely left out, unbalanced etc for Dev reasons in the beta.

I could qoute the same kind of list from the opposite point of view from someone in beta if you like. Doesn't really mean much.
