Here is a few I've been thinking about. They are detailed, though they might have been stated before.

I'd like the Spy to have a hologram projector to replace the revolver. It would be a small "mine", and when you fire he will plant it on the ground. Firing again would project an image of you going in a straight direction. The image is affected on what you were disguised as when you planted it. Example, disguising as a friendly pyro, planting it, and changing to an enemy sniper will still make the hologram a friendly pyro. If the image bumps a wall or is damaged in any way, it will disappear.

Just an idea I'm throwing out there. It would be a good distraction, and serves as an escape weapon like the revolver.

This idea is already been stated, but just saying it again. A replacement for the sapper that "saps" ammo and health kits. Consuming a "sapped" health kit will give you a poisoned affect, doing 45 damage in 10 seconds. This can be stopped by getting healed by a Medic or consuming another real health kit. A "sapped" ammo box will remove 1/4 of your ammo reserves, or if you are an engineer, will remove 100 metal (+ the ammo reserves). Shooting the health or ammo before consuming it will stop the effect.

*Edited* A laser pen to replace the disguise kit. To use it, you must point the laser pen (infinite range) at a target continually for 4 seconds while firing. If you succeed, you will be disguised as the target with the exact amount of health he has. Backstabbing the copied person while disguised will not drop yours, and the kill will not be registered on the top right. Swinging the knife and hitting nothing will not drop the disguise. The disguise will expire if you hit another enemy you are not disguised as, and the hit connects. If you swing the knife while hitting nothing, your model will still appear to be swinging, just like as an enemy disguised spy seems to reach forward when sapping. The exception is if you copy someone with their melee weapon out, then you will appear to be swinging the melee weapon.

I REALLY like the hologram idea, it's just sick, Im not sold on the others though :/

(hologram should replace sapper instead, but thats just my opinion)

I have played on a server recently that was modded and had the ability to throw a rag doll spy body down only while you are cloaked to give the impression that you had died with it using 25% of your cloak time (or 2.5 seconds worth).  I found that just that small upgrade to the spy made the strategy of playing spy much more fun.  Undiscerning enemies would consider you dead (even though no kill message was up top) and run away, giving you the ability to continue your infiltration.  I didn't see it as unbalanced as most discerning players would notice that they hadn't killed you and continue to fire.

It's a cool idea, I've heard. But after a while everyone would just learn to keep shooting while glancing upper right.

I was thinking of a hologram in dart form that could replace the revolver. It does no damage and unnoticeable by the affected class, but when you shoot an enemy, they become disguised as a random class, same as how the spy disguises (telltale smoke, random name, keep their original class speed, primary weapon out) but can still walk through teammates and seals their ability to attack for 5 seconds. The spy can use the hologram dart while disguised, and the forced disguised can be dropped by a teammate shooting them or attacking after the 5 second limit is over. The idea is that now that everyone knows the signs that point out disguised spies, the Spy can use their paranoia against them, confusing the enemy team and distracting them from their objective and causing enough chaos to let you get some backstabs and other Spy stuff. Any opinions?

I don't really like the hologram or sickness thing..

The laser pen is pretty cool though,

How about something that replaces the sapper or even the pistol and can drain cloak out of enemy's or enemy buildings?

Question about the pen:
At first you say that killing the copy will not drop your disguise and will not show up on the kill ticker....but afterwards you say if the copied player dies (including by allied hands) the disguise will expire.  Can you be more clear as to what you mean?  Kind of a big contridiction.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I wasn't thinking straight when I said if the copied player dies, the disguise expires. The point of the pen is to disguise a single target as best as possible, health, weapon, and class, and taking out that target. After you take out that target, you basically can assume the role of that class.

For example, you laser pen an Engineer as he goes to the resupply room to get metal and go back to his sentry. You copy him with his wrench out, he goes back to his sentry, and you follow. He has a small sentry nest and a dispenser. What you can do is easily backstab him, and even if you miss, you can continue to fight him disguised. Once you backstab him, you can assume his identity because you will appear to have his wrench in the corner with full health.

This pen is rewards getting a chain of single-target kills.
