do people not like Teritory Control in general, or is it just Hydro? what could Valve do to make a new, good Tc map, if anything?

TC's take a long time to make. You basically have to make five maps, one for each possibility. I think we can expect some new TC maps in the future, Valve has been busy with payload and arena though.

I think the main problem is that the players are expected to balance offence and defence, however defence is easier so more players would choose that. There is also no middle control point(s) that provide shorter spawn times or further up spawns to provide a team an advantage, and as a result players aren't as inclined towards offence. Having three points in play would help, but would probably break existing TC maps. A possible solution is that every round could be like the last one, meaning one team attacks and the other defends, perhaps with a setup time.

If all the control points were in play at once, then I think we would have a completely different style of play in the map. You can't split your team down the middle, and defend both points.

Similarly, Scouts would become incredibly helpful, as the battlefield would change every 5 minutes or less, the scouts can rush on ahead before the engis get a chance to set up.

I'm not sure how the final point should be handled, however.

I like the idea of a Middle point... they couldn't do anything about Hydro, but could better future maps. really, extra pathways for assault resulting in less sudden death would be probably the biggest thing.

I love hydro, and really wish the this play mode was used more often.  I think dustbowl could be tweaked to to it with all the dead ends and possible spawn doors that you could work with, but it does seem like a very daunting task to make one of these maps.

TC is by far the next best map for the scouts, next to the ctf map.  I will make my prediction now that we see a new tc map when the scout update is released.

I would also love to see a new TC map have a completly new style, like Lumberyard did. but it could be done to any map. I really hope they mae a new one, so people will like the game mode more.

Someone is making a custom TC map based on CTF instead of CP. First team to cap the other team's intel once takes the other team's territory, and in the last round the defending team has to defend a single briefcase for the time duration to take their territory back. It's an interesting idea.

I've already played a custom map just like that set in a jungle village with docks and a cave system, very enjoyable map.
