Wrong.There is still rainforest on Earth the size of AUSTRAILIA, the Brazil goverment says they are only going to sell timber when 3 more trees have been planted for each tree sold.

Lou, your argument is unfounded and unsupported.  If you are going to start a thread like this, at least provide some form of proof, or support for your argument, so that we can have something to discuss.  Otherwise it's just your opinion, and why would we want to discuss your opinion?  think you are smarter than the scientific community?

The ice caps ARE melting.   The glaciers ARE decreasing in size.  For the past century humans have been shitting on this earth in more ways than nature intended us to do.   You cannot deny that we have a major impact on our planet, and our environment.

There may be global warming but it has nothing if not a microscopic thing to do with the climate patterns thus far and weather change... the hurricanes and such. Weather has always been extremely cyclical.. we've had hurricanes just as bad as now 50 years ago, 100 years ago, 150 years ago and so on. The cycle isn't exactly 50 years but it's disgusting how much hype is put into "global warming" affecting the weather. It's all cyclical my friends.

Global warming is real, just exaggerated in regards to how *much* it affects the weather.

Ok then.  The physics of greenhouse gasses is known to perfection.  nobody debates it.  nobody.  Simply, the more GHG (Green House Gasses, mostly CO2) in the atmosphere, the more heat the atmosphere can hold.  We are pumping a metric shit-ton of GHGs into the atmosphere. 

That is pretty much the entire global warming problem. 

Now the climate system is VERY complicated, parts of it are non-linear, yet very predictable.  We are, in fact, able to model the earths climate very very well. 

There is no debate except in the media.  There were a couple of "scientists" that set out to disprove global warming.  They turned out to be a sociologist and a petroleum geologist, funded by Exxon.  Many media and political bums cite their "study," but no one in the scientific community gives a shit.

And don't believe what comes out of the White House when it comes to climate change and global warming.

Here's my take on it.  Let's assume that OP is correct for a moment.  This does not make pollution a good thing. It actually still fits nicely into the bad things category.  Reducing carbon emissions and recycling and all that are good whether or not global warming is real or not.  I am tired of hearing people oppose pollution reducing legislation simply on the grounds that they don't believe in global warming.

However the OP is wrong, and there is no credible source saying that global warming is untrue.  All I have seen are political analysts and journalists.  There may be actual scientists, but I've never seen one.  There are a lot of unanswered questions, but there is enough knowledge about that we can be certain that we need to act.

While we're on the subject, I would like to mention another environmental threat that is as big as global warming.  Eutrophication.  Nutrient runoff from farms goes into rivers and into oceans where algae grows like mad.  Soon it also begins to die like mad and all of the decomposing algae sucks all of the oxygen out of the water so that nothing can live there and the algae forms a layer of slime on the bottom.  In parts of the Gulf of Mexico this layer of dead algae is up to two feet thick.  The dead zones around large rivers grow every year.  When coupled with overfishing and warmer oceans (also more acidic from the increased CO₂), and normally resilient ecosystems are quickly disappearing.  Find out more below.

Or we could spend all our money on new toys for the military, since that's worked so well in the past.
