But you're right that its hyped up by the media
'The temperture of the atmosphere is increasing'
No its not, last year the average temp of the earth decreased 1.8 celcius
'The rainforests are dispeapearing!'
Wrong. There is still rainforest on Earth the size of AUSTRAILIA, the Brazil goverment says they are only going to sell timber when 3 more trees have been planted for each tree sold.
'There's been a drought in the middle of nowhere, Sent your millions to help these poor people.'
Er... what? I'm sorry haven't we been doing that for the past 30 years? "This child has to live in a slum, his life is terrible. There he is drinking from that well that was built in 1982, standing with his mates outside that school that was built in 1985, running around in a Manchester United shirt..."
And besides why are sending or money to Ugandiland when half of the frigging village has turned up in a van and is now living next door to me. Buying cars and nice shoes from the money handed to them from the goverment and trowing pebbles at passing cars.
Don't send them money, give it me to help pay off my student loans, get a gift for my disabled nan and BUY A SHOTGUN TO KILL THE FUCKERS
So many errors, where to begin...
1) Temperature change must be viewed over many years in order to see the trend. Just because last year's average was lower does not mean global warming is not happening.
2) The problem with the rainforests is the illegal deforestation. The Brazilian government has many good laws to try to preserve the rainforest. The problem is the private companies ignore the laws. And because the area is so large, it is too hard for the government to enforce.
3) The amount of money sent to poor communities is not enough to fix the underlying problem, even if we've been sending money for 30+ years. So because the underlying problems are not getting fixed adequately, they continue to live in poverty. But it is up to you and your morals to determine if paying off your student loans are more important than saving lives.
