Vista Passwords and Security prompts.

Is there a way to turn off all or most of vista security prompts.

Every time I try to delete a file, or I tweek with some setting or i install something, it prompts me for my username and password.  This is very annoying and time consuming.  Is there any way to turn off all the security prompts in Vista?

There IS indeed a way to fix this.  And it's quite simple.

1. Backup your hard drive.
2. Pop in a Windows XP install disc.
3. Reformat your hard drive.
4. Install XP onto your hard drive.
5. Enjoy.

In other news: try turning off UAC.

1. Start Menu
2. Type in "msconfig" and hit enter.
3. Go to the "Tools" tab.
4. Find "Disable UAC"
5. Highlight "Disable UAC" and hit "Launch"
6. Restart your computer.

Or you could go to user accounts under control panel and choose disable UAC.

Turning off UAC is just about one of the dumbest things you can do. IMO.

I disabled it. If you're smart enough with computers, you know to recoginse malicious programs. No need for lame pop ups that lag the system to hell.

Easiest way is to click on start then just click on your picture, then disable uac.

I don't run an AV/software firewall either...but its not like we should go around recommending that to people.
