When should i eat my sandvich?

i play heavy with the sandvich equipped but i found it to be really useless most of the time. i just want to ask if any of you guys have any tips on when and where to eat the sandvich. i always find myself having a medic, and sometimes well have a dozens of engineers that have built dispensers everyone. right now im just confused, and partially wondering why im using a freaking sandwich in the battlefield.

I have forgone using the sandvich in most games- healthpacks, medics and dispensers are always plentiful in normal modes of play.

Equip it for arena, where healthpacks are almost non-existant, medics are in high demand and engineers are few and far between. When it's just a few people, find a secure place to hide and nom away. It's risky, and you will die once or twice to an unfortunate enemy rounding the corner, but that is the risk one must take before nomming on this delicious morsel.

I've found use for it sometimes in regular game modes while pinned in a corner where you can't be hit but if you take one step forward you step into Sasha-fire. This is a good time to restock health because you're safe for a moment. 90% of the time I run out of ammo before I need the sandvich however, and sometimes the shotgun is THAT much better than winding up the barrel.
