Which is better?. . .

Which is better, Soldier or Demoman?  I know they are both situational, but give those situations and maybe overall.

I like demoman better. He has better weapons. I personally don't like the soldier's shotgun

demo is better because he can destroy sentries easier than the solly unless the sentry is poorly guarded, you find the right approach, or its a weak lvl 1 or 2. Otherwise I would say solly is better than the demo at killing enemies.

It's a loaded question.

I'd argue soldier though due to his mobility advantages. And no weapon in the game is as powerful as a crit rocket on how much damage it can inflict. He also has a health advantage. Ad nauseam.

For me soldiers are better. First of all, I don't know if this is true but it does seem that soldier's melee weapon has a longer reach. Second, I would trade for slow running speed for more hp any day. Third, maybe its my imagination but, explosives that flies in a straight line instead of lobbing them seems more powerful to me

Soldiers are universal.

Demomen make better uber targets for sentry but have a harder time dealing with crowds of people if being attacked.

Both are pretty versatile and have different strengths and weaknesses. I can't really say which one is better.

Err better how?  For defense?  Offense?



Demoman is a little harder to play, but can take out buildings easier, pipe jump easier (Can turn around corners) and can lay traps.


Soldier is THE offense class, It's the best for taking out sentries at long range, can clear groups of people, can juggle people, and can do a variety of jumps.  But takes a lot of practice to master.

its all situational, but overall demomen because of the incredible amount of dmg they can dish out.  there's a reason in 6v6 u cant have 2 demos.
